Call for Applications: MOE 2026 2nd Round Study Abroad and Overseas Internship Scholarship Programs (R.O.C. Students Only)

  1. This announcement is issued in accordance with MOE Letter No. 1152502241, dated July 14, 2026, and the Regulations Governing the Subsidy Program for Domestic Universities Selecting Students for Overseas Study or Professional Internships Abroad (full text available at: https://edu.law.moe.gov.tw/LawContent.aspx?id=FL038574).
  2. To facilitate the 2026 application process (applications do not include Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau), the internal schedule is outlined below:
    1. Study Abroad Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged Students:
      • Beginning in 2026, the eligibility criteria have been expanded. Eligible students who intend to apply must submit their application materials to the Office of International Affairs by 5:00 p.m. on August 31, 2026.

    2. Overseas Internship Program / New Southbound Policy Overseas Internship Program: Selection of students for professional internships at overseas enterprises or institutions.
      • Internships must last at least 28 consecutive days (or 25 consecutive days in Indonesia), excluding travel time. The maximum subsidy period is one academic year.
      • For the Overseas Internship Program, each institution may submit up to ten proposals, and all colleges must establish a priority ranking (ranking not required for the New Southbound Policy program).
      • Principal Investigators (full-time faculty) shall submit proposals through their departments and colleges by August 15th (extended if the deadline falls on a holiday).
      • Colleges shall complete reviews by August 30th (extended if the deadline falls on a holiday) and submit approved proposals and rankings to the OIA.
      • The OIA will convene a university-level review meeting by September 10, 2026 (extended if the deadline falls on a holiday).
      • Principal Investigators are kindly requested to contact the designated university coordinator in advance to activate system access.
