Program Duration
The program duration shall not exceed six (6) months.Eligibility
International master’s or doctoral students currently enrolled in overseas academic institutions whose thesis research topics align with the research fields of faculty members at our university.Fees and Quota
There is no program fee for participation; however, students are responsible for all expenses related to traveling to and staying in Taiwan. Students from partner institutions of our university will be given priority consideration.Application Procedures
- Contact a faculty member at Chang Gung University to discuss your short-term research plan. You must first obtain the consent of a CGU faculty member to serve as your supervisor during your stay in Taiwan.
- Once the faculty member agrees to supervise you, you must complete the online application form and prepare the required application documents.

Please submit your application documents to the Office of International Affairs at least three months prior to your intended visit.
(Applications are usually submitted to the Office of International Affairs by the CGU supervising professor. Students or supervisors may contact the Office of International Affairs for further information.)

Finding a Supervisor
Please refer to the list of academic departments and graduate institutes on our university website. You may contact faculty members whose research areas match your research needs.Other important information
- As approval from the Ministry of Education (MOE) is required, it is recommended that applicants submit the application form and obtain supervisor consent at least three months before the planned arrival in Taiwan.
- After MOE approval, the university will issue an official document from the MOE. Please use this document and other required materials to apply for a Taiwan visa at a Taiwanese overseas mission.
- You must provide proof of medical and accident insurance coverage for the duration of your stay in Taiwan, with coverage exceeding NTD 1,000,000 (approximately USD 36,000).
- You may apply for on-campus housing. For more information, please refer to the university’s "Accommodation" webpage.
- If you plan to use the university library resources, please contact the responsible staff member at the Office of International Affairs separately.
