1. Internal applicationBefore Departure: Students must pass the internal review at CGU. Once approved, CGU will recommend the exchange students to the overseas universities. Application Submission: For paper-based applications: Students should submit all required documents to the Office of International Affairs (OIA) for mailing. If the documents are submitted late, the student will need to mail them to the overseas university independently. For online applications: Students must complete the application on the foreign university's website before the deadline. Tuition Fees: Tuition fees during the exchange period are handled according to the agreement between the universities. Students must remain registered at CGU during their study abroad and are not allowed to take a leave of absence. If a language course is required by the foreign university, Students must cover the cost on their own. Students who pass the review will receive admission letters and visa application documents from the foreign university. If the student did not apply for on-campus housing, they must find accommodation independently. Admission Process: The timing for reviewing and sending admission documents is determined by each university. Students should monitor this process closely and patiently wait for the documents. Upon receipt, students must complete passport, visa, housing, and course registration procedures according to the academic calendar of the foreign university. Visa processing is handled according to the regulations of each country by their representative offices in Taiwan. Study Abroad Course Application: Verify course selection, graduation/extension status, military service (for male students), and cancel CGU dormitory accommodations if applicable. Course Selection: Review the courses offered by the overseas university. Discuss with your department and course instructors to ensure the courses can be credited at CGU. Only courses from CGU's curriculum will be considered for credit, as per the department’s regulations. Submit the "Application Form for Chang Gung University Students to Study Abroad" form to the Registry Section / Graduate Studies Section of Office of Academic Affairs after department approval. Visa, Ticket, and Insurance: Students must apply for visas, purchase flight tickets, and buy insurance independently. Besides, students should also be prepared to cover expenses for airfare, food, housing, transportation, and medical needs during the exchange period. For airport pickup, students should use public transportation or contact local student associations or churches. Pack and prepare all necessary items for study abroad.
