The Office of International Affairs (OIA), originally named as the International Cooperation Center, was established in 2001. With the recognition of internationalization and globalization, Chang Gung University (CGU) has been striving to establish academic ties with prestigious universities all over the world. In order to reach this goal, the OIA takes on an active role in exploring potential academic cooperation with our international counterparts for students and faculty. We assist the departments of the university to arrange academic exchange programs, to liaise with sister universities, to facilitate the visit of overseas scholars, staff and visitors, and to jointly host conferences and research projects. Our primary duty is to prepare our students, staff, and faculty well for a new era of global village.

What do we do?

Establishing partnerships with overseas universities and institutions

The main goal of OIA is to establish networks with universities worldwide. CGU currently has partnerships with universities in the United States, France, Hong Kong, China, Brazil, Japan, and the United Kingdom, etc. We endeavor to expand and strengthen our global networks for the growth and development of students and CGU.

Enriching faculty and students' international and multicultural perspectives

With the assistance of colleges and departments, we advocate the sharing of educational and research resources through encouraging faculty and students to participate in our International Academic Exchange Programs and International Dual Degree Programs. We will continue promoting and advancing the existing programs for our faculty and students, which will give them opportunities to absorb in-depth knowledge in overseas institutions and broaden their horizons.

Organizing international events

OIA assists the academic departments of the university in organizing international events and conferences for scholarly interactions.

Recruiting international students

OIA aims to create a dynamic international campus environment through recruiting international students. We provide support to international students to increase integration and engagement of local and international students in the CGU community.

Developing a bilingual campus

Responding to the Taiwan government's policy on Bilingual Nation and intending to create a more friendly environment for international faculty and students, OIA has initiated a bilingual movement in the CGU campus by bilingualizing university regulations, documents and websites and gradually promoting bilingual services in school events.
