CGU welcomes students currently enrolled at partner universities with valid student exchange agreements to join us for short-term study opportunities. These opportunities include conducting research or participating in a lab internship.

To apply for the exchange program, students must be officially nominated by their home university. Since each partner university has its own selection process, we encourage students to first contact their home university to learn about eligibility criteria and application procedures.

2. For students
  1. Make sure you are nominated by home university.
  2. Fill out the application form.
  3. Check your email to see if you receive the application form (PDF).
  4. Forward the email you received to the Office of International Affairs (inbound@mail.cgu.edu.tw) along with the signed application form and the below documents (in PDF or jpg format)

Official Transcript Submit an English version of a transcript from your home university.

Please describe the relevance of your internship or research at CGU to your current field of study briefly.

Fees

  1. Tuition fees: based on the agreement signed by both universities.
  2. Dormitory Fees: 
    • Dormitory Fee: NT$ 520 per week (calculated from Sunday to Saturday; stays shorter than one week will still be charged for a full week).
    • Dormitory Cleaning Fee: NT$ 600 (one-time fee).
    • Note: Mattresses, bed linens (sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and blankets), laundry supplies, and ethernet cables are NOT provided. If you require bedding, a rental set is available for a one-time fee of NT$ 350. The set includes a mattress, pillow, and blanket.
  3. Living expenses: about NT$7,000-10,000 per month.

Health Insurance

  1. Exchange students to CGU are required to purchase Health and Accident insurance (covering NT$1,000,000, approx. US$36,000) in home country or in Taiwan, which covers the entire period of the stay in CGU and in Taiwan. Proof of Health and Accident insurance is required upon registration.
  2. Optional: upon registration at CGU, students may choose to be part of the Student Safety Insurance, the fee is NT$230 per semester.

Application Process for CGU Staff

If a department or program receives a nomination from an overseas partner university for foreign students to conduct short-term internships or research at CGU, please follow the procedure outlined below:
  1. Departments (Programs) should notify foreign partner university students to submit the following documents to the designated department (program) contact person or faculty member at least three months before their expected arrival in Taiwan.

    • Official Transcript
    • Study Plan (one-page)
  2. The department (program) compiles the student list and application materials and submits them using a school notes (Package No. 2B-01) through the iCGU Flow system (example), cosigning to the Office of International Affairs (OIA).
  3. Upon approval, the OIA provides the official approval letter and admission notification to the department (program) and informs the student housing section to arrange accommodation.
  4. The OIA provides the department (program) with the pre-arrival notice, assigned bed number, and accommodation fee details.
  5. The department (program) hosts the short-term exchange students and assists with their arrival procedures and accommodation fee payment.
  6. Upon program completion, the OIA issues a certificate of completion to the student.
