After Application

According to academic regulations, if you are not enrolled in courses during the exchange period, you only need to pay the accident insurance fee. Exceptions apply for the International Health Management Bachelor's Program, which requires full tuition payment. If you are taking courses at our university during your study abroad (up to 9 credits), you will need to pay the credit fees. If you take 10 or more credits, full tuition and fees are required. You can print out the payment slip online before the semester begins and follow the university’s registration and payment procedures. If you are already abroad, you can authorize a relative or friend in Taiwan to handle the payment. If there is an error in the payment amount, undergraduate students should contact the Registry Section, and graduate students should contact the Graduate Studies Section.
Not necessarily. Passing the internal review only means that you are nominated by the university for the exchange program. The overseas university will still review your application, and if you do not pass their review or fail to obtain a student visa, you will not be able to participate. The university cannot intervene in the review or visa process. Any study abroad grants (if applicable) will also be canceled.
You will usually receive notification before the end of the semester preceding your departure. Please wait for the overseas university’s notification and avoid frequent inquiries.
The maximum exchange period is one academic year. All students nominated for the exchange program must complete the exchange according to the originally approved period. Students approved for a one-semester exchange cannot request an extension. If you have a valid reason or force majeure, you may apply to shorten the exchange period with approval from both universities.
If you want to keep your dormitory bed, you must pay the full accommodation fee. If you choose to withdraw from the dormitory, you will not need to pay. CGU has sufficient dormitory space, so you can reapply for accommodation during your last semester abroad, but the same dormitory bed is not guaranteed.
Financial proof can be obtained from your bank in the form of an English-language deposit certificate. It can be from your own account or your parents' / guardians'. Some universities or visa offices require financial proof to ensure you have enough funds to live abroad. Please note that scholarships you have not yet confirmed cannot be used as financial proof.
Most overseas universities offer dormitories. You should apply directly to the university according to their information and pay attention to their application deadlines. If the overseas university does not provide accommodation, you will need to arrange it yourself. The Office of International Affairs cannot help with finding accommodation abroad or arranging rentals. We recommend referring to previous students’ reports for guidance.

The validity of your exchange student visadepends on the duration of the exchange. For one-semester exchanges, visaoffices usually issue a six-month student visa. For one-year exchanges, theyissue a one-year or ten-month visa. Before applying for a visa, confirm if youneed to submit proof of enrollment from our university, which can be obtainedfrom the payment machine in the First Medical Building.

It is recommended to apply for a studentvisa as soon as you receive the overseas university’s admission offer. Afterobtaining the visa, you can arrange insurance, flights, and accommodation. Please note that the Office of International Affairs and the overseasuniversity cannot assist with booking flights, applying for visas, or arranginginsurance. Some universitys provide visa and off-campus accommodationinformation on their websites. Keep in mind that receiving an admission offerdoes not guarantee a visa, and obtaining a visa does not guarantee entry intothe country.

You can return during university holidays, but check if your visa allows multiple entries. Some countries/regions requirean additional visa for re-entry. If you plan to return mid-semester, notify boththe overseas university and the Office of International Affairs and explainyour reason.
