Registration Guidelines (Spring 2025)

All new students MUST complete the Registration within the first 2 weeks of the semester.

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) will assist you in completing the Health Examination, online registration, and tuition & miscellaneous fee payments (dormitory and insurance fees are included in the same payment slip).

Notes

  • Payment slips will be available after February 10 and can be paid in cash at the Post Office CGU Branch upon arrival in Taiwan.
  • Notify the OIA in advance via email if you cannot attend the registration.
  • Failure to register may result in withdrawal of acceptance with no remedial measures.
Required documents for registration:
Degree students
  • Original passport
  • Authenticated degree certificate and transcripts
Semester exchange students
  • Original passport
  • Learning agreement (if any)

Essential steps before the registration


STEP 1

Inquiry Period for New Student ID Numbers

Visit here and find out your student ID number after February 7.

STEP 2

Fill out your personal information

  1. Log into iCGU and change the default password
    • Username: CGU student ID number
    • Password (8 digits): the last 4 digits of your passport number and your birthday (month and day)
  2. Change the default password: click Personal Info → click Enter in Change Password
  3. Personal Information: Log into iCGU with the new password → click Personal Info → Enter Student Profile Management System → Edit Student Basic Information → Fill in all the required fields and then click “Save Changes” → Submit

★ Please do not forget to click the 'Submit' button."

STEP 3

Fill out your personal information

Log into iCGU and click “Document Printing” to print the following documents:

  1. New Student Registration Procedure Sheet
  2. Registration payment note and medical examination payment note
STEP 4

Attentive Inventory of Mental Health

  1. Read the Instructions on Mental Health Examination (before filling out the test).
  2. Complete the online Attentive Inventory of Mental Health (Log in with student ID Number).
  3. Results will be discussed during the Mental Health Workshop.

【Exam Details】

  1. Fee: Free for CGU students (to enhance mental well-being and current stress levels).
  2. Personal information disclosed during the examination will remain confidential unless a self-harm situation arises; the school counselor will contact you in such cases.

STEP 5

Complete Emergency Medical Authorization Form

  1. Log in with your CGU email (studentID@cgu.edu.tw)
  2. Complete the online Emergency Medical Authorization Form by February 28.

Mental Health Workshop (Optional)

Conference room, 2nd floor of Student Activity Center
  1. In this workshop, we will explain the results of the Mental Health Examination and introduce CGU’s counseling resources. Following this, enjoyable activities will help establish connections and address common challenges encountered by international students.
  2. Free Lunch and bubble tea will be provided before the event; kindly specify your meal preference by completing the Google form before February 11 (Tuesday).

Alien Resident Certificate Application Workshop (Recommended for all degree students)

  1. In this workshop, we will assist you in submitting the Alien Resident Certificate application online.
  2. Save all the required documents in your USB beforehand. Housing Certificates will be provided by the OIA.
  3. The Immigration Agency will notify you via email once your application has been approved. Make the payment online or at the convenience stores.
  4. The Immigration Agency will notify you via email once the payment has been received. Then please download the receipt from the Immigration Agency and submit it to the OIA.

【Remarks】

  • Resident Visa holders MUST apply for ARC within 30 days of arriving in Taiwan, taking responsibility for any registration delay and potential ARC overdue penalties.
  • Options for validity: 1, 2, or 3 years. Please select the duration based on the length of your program.
  • The application won't be accepted if required documents are missing or if the photo does not meet the requirements.
  • OIA will collect the ARC card for new international students in Taoyuan City; residents in other cities MUST collect the ARC themselves.
  • Starting from the 2nd academic year-> Before your ARC expires, students MUST apply for an ARC extension online at least 3 months before the residence permit expires and collect the ARC in person.

Meet up on campus and depart

  1. The bus departs around 08:10 AM. Please arrive at the bus stop at 07:55 AM.
  2. If you miss the 08:10 AM CGU bus, please take the next CGU bus to the CGMH Health Exam Center. If you live off-campus, arrange your own transportation. In either case, follow the instructions provided to ensure you arrive at the Health Exam Center by 09:30 AM. Late registration will not be accepted under any circumstances.

  1. Please bring the payment receipt for medical examination.
  2. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing.
  3. For students on prescribed lenses, please bring the lenses on the day of the examination, so that post-treatment eyesight can be tested.

【Exam Details】

  1. Fee: NT$1,000. Make sure the payment is made before the examination.
  2. If you’ve had an x-ray exam within the last 3 months (mandatory for Resident Visa application), bring your original health exam report (not the photo of your x-ray) and one hard copy of it to the hospital for exemption.

    If you CANNOT attend the scheduled health examination:

  • This is the only time the health examination will be offered through our arrangement. If you miss it, you will need to complete the health examination independently.
  • Please visit here for further instructions.
  • You must submit your health examination report to the Health Care Section by February 27.

CGU Scholarship recipients must take 1 Chinese course in semester 1 or semester 2.
