Registration Guidelines (Fall 2026)

All new students MUST complete the registration within the first 2 weeks of the semester.

*Registration from the second semester onwards: Please see here.

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) will assist you with the health examination, online registration, and payment of tuition and miscellaneous fees (dormitory and insurance fees are included on the same payment slip).

Notes

  • Payment slips can be paid in cash at the Post Office CGU Branch upon arrival in Taiwan.
  • Failure to register may result in withdrawal of acceptance with no remedial measures.
Required documents for registration:
Degree students
  • Original degree certificate and transcripts
  • Authenticated degree certificate and transcripts
  • Declaration From (If you can’t turn in now)
Exchange students
  • Learning agreement (if any)
  • Visitor visa holders: Health Certificate for Short-Term Students
Dual-degree Undergraduate students (2+2)
  • Original transcripts and enrollment certificate issued by the home university
  • Declaration From (If you can’t turn in now)
Dual-degree Graduate students (1+1)
    [SUTD]
  • Copy or digital enrollment certificate issued by SUTD
  • Copy of the degree certificate and transcript from your previous degree
  • Declaration From (If you can’t turn in now)
    [NEOMA & ECAM LaSalle]
  • Copy or digital enrollment certificate issued by NEOMA/ECAM LaSalle
  • Transcripts from all semesters issued by NEOMA/ECAM LaSalle

Dual-degree students (3+2)

  • The original Health Certificate (used for the resident visa application)

Essential steps before the registration


STEP 1

Inquiry Period for New Student ID Numbers

Visit here to find out your student ID number (Date to be determined).

STEP 2

Fill out your personal information (instructions)

(Please ensure to complete your personal information by September 2)
  1. Log into iCGU and change the default password

    International degree-seeking students

    • Username: CGU student ID number followed by @cgu.edu.tw
    • Password (8 digits): Last 4 digits of your application number + your date of birth (MMDD format)

    Exchange and dual-degree students

    • Username: CGU student ID number followed by @cgu.edu.tw
    • Password (8 digits): Last 4 digits of your date of birth (MMDD) + Last 4 digits of your date of birth (MMDD)
  2. Change the default password: click Personal Info → click Enter in Change Password
  3. Personal Information: Log into iCGU with the new password → click Personal Info → Enter Student Profile Management System → Edit Student Basic Information → Fill in all the required fields and then click “Save Changes” → Submit

★ Please do not forget to click the 'Submit' button.

STEP 3

Print out the documents for registration

Log into iCGU and click “Document Printing” to print the following documents:

  1. Registration Payment Note
  2. Health Examination Payment Note
  3. New Student Registration Procedure Sheet
STEP 4

Attentive Inventory of Mental Health

  1. Read the Instructions on Mental Health Examination (before filling out the test).
  2. Complete the online Attentive Inventory of Mental Health (Log in with student ID Number).
  3. Review your results along with the PPT explanation. If you would like to discuss your results, you may schedule a counseling appointment.

【Exam Details】

  • Fee: Free for CGU students (to enhance mental well-being and understand current stress levels).
  • Confidentiality: All personal information disclosed during the examination will remain confidential unless a risk of self-harm is identified. In such cases, the school counselor will contact you first.

STEP 5

Complete the Emergency Medical Authorization Form

  1. Log in with your CGU email (studentID@cgu.edu.tw)
  2. Complete the online Emergency Medical Authorization Form by September 7.
STEP 6

Registration starts from September 7 to 18

Make sure you have completed Step1-5. If you can’t join the Registration Day, please follow the steps below:
  1. Bring your Registration Procedure Sheet and follow the registration steps listed on the sheet.
  2. Staff from the Student Affairs Office will stamp your Registration Procedure Sheet once you’ve submitted your personal information on iCGU.
  3. Submit the registration payment receipt and the required documents (please refer to the notes in the first section) to the staff from:
    • the Registry Section, Academic Affairs Office (undergrad students)
    • the Graduate Studies Section, Academic Affairs Office (graduate students)
  4. Collect your CGU student ID card.

ARC & Work Permit Application Workshop

(Mandatory for all degree students and 1-year exchange students)

*If you already have a valid ARC and Work Permit, you are not required to attend.

【Workshop Description】

  1. During the ARC & Work Permit Workshop, we will assist you in submitting the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) application online. As the computers provided by the university use a Chinese-language interface, we strongly recommend that you bring your own laptop to ensure a smoother application process.
  2. Please save all the required documents in your USB beforehand. Housing Certificates will be provided by the OIA.

【Application and Notification Process】

  1. The National Immigration Agency (NIA) will notify you via email once your application has been approved. Make the payment online or at the convenience stores.
  2. The NIA will notify you via email after the payment has been received.
  3. Then please download the receipt from the NIA system and submit it to the OIA.

【Remarks】

  • Resident Visa holders MUST apply for ARC within 30 days of arriving in Taiwan, and are responsible for any registration delay and potential ARC overdue penalties.
  • The application won't be accepted if required documents are missing or if the uploaded photo does not meet the requirements.
  • The OIA will collect the ARC card for new international students in Taoyuan City; residents in other cities MUST collect the ARC themselves. If you urgently need your ARC, please go to the National Immigration Agency to pick it up in person.
  • Students must apply online for an ARC extension within three months before their residence permit expires and collect it in person at the Immigration Agency.

Counseling Workshop

During the Counseling Workshop, a counseling psychologist from the Counseling Section will guide you in completing the Attentive Inventory of Mental Health on a computer.

  1. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing.
  2. For students on prescribed lenses, please bring the lenses on the day of the examination, so that post-treatment eyesight can be tested.

【Exam Details】

  1. Fee:
    NT$1,000 for degree-seeking students; NT$822 for exchange students.
    Please bring your health examination payment receipt and your Registration Procedure Sheet (without it you cannot obtain the registration stamp).
  2. If you’ve had an x-ray exam within the last 3 months (mandatory for Resident Visa application), you can upload your X-ray report here for the Health Care section's review. If the report passes the review, you may skip the X-ray on exam day (the fee remains unchanged).
