Registration Guidelines (Spring 2026)

All new students MUST complete the Registration within the first 2 weeks of the semester.

*Registration from the second semester onwards: Please see here.

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) will assist you in completing the Health Examination, online registration, and tuition & miscellaneous fee payments (dormitory and insurance fees are included in the same payment slip).

Notes

  • Payment slips will be available after February 9 and can be paid in cash at the Post Office CGU Branch upon arrival in Taiwan.
  • Failure to register may result in withdrawal of acceptance with no remedial measures.
Required documents for registration:
Degree students
  • Original passport
  • Original degree certificate and transcripts
  • Authenticated degree certificate and transcripts
  • Declaration From (If you can’t turn in now)
Semester exchange students
  • Original passport
  • Learning agreement (if any)
  • Visitor visa holders: Health Certificate for Short-Term Students

Essential steps before the registration


STEP 1

Inquiry Period for New Student ID Numbers

Visit here and find out your student ID number after February 6.

STEP 2

Fill out your personal information (instructions)

(Please ensure to complete your personal information by February 22)
  1. Log into iCGU and change the default password

    International degree-seeking students

    • Username: CGU student ID number followed by @cgu.edu.tw
    • Password (8 digits): The last 4 digits of your application number + your date of birth (MMDD format)

    Exchange and dual-degree students

    • Username: CGU student ID number followed by @cgu.edu.tw
    • Password (8 digits): Last 4 digits of your date of birth (MMDD) + Last 4 digits of your date of birth (MMDD)
  2. Change the default password: click Personal Info → click Enter in Change Password
  3. Personal Information: Log into iCGU with the new password → click Personal Info → Enter Student Profile Management System → Edit Student Basic Information → Fill in all the required fields and then click “Save Changes” → Submit

★ Please do not forget to click the 'Submit' button.

STEP 3

Print out the documents for registration

Log into iCGU and click “Document Printing” to print the following documents:

  1. Registration payment note (available after February 9)
  2. New Student Registration Procedure Sheet (available after February 9)
STEP 4

Attentive Inventory of Mental Health

  1. Read the Instructions on Mental Health Examination (before filling out the test).
  2. Complete the online Attentive Inventory of Mental Health (Log in with student ID Number).
  3. Results will be discussed during the Mental Health Workshop (Expected March 2-6, afternoon).

【Exam Details】

  • Fee: Free for CGU students (to enhance mental well-being and current stress levels).
  • Personal information disclosed during the examination will remain confidential unless a self-harm situation arises; the school counselor will contact you in such cases.

STEP 5

Complete Emergency Medical Authorization Form

  1. Log in with your CGU email (studentID@cgu.edu.tw)
  2. Complete the online Emergency Medical Authorization Form by March 6.
STEP 6

Registration starts from February 23 to March 6

  1. Make sure you complete Step1-6.
  2. Bring your Registration Procedure Sheet and follow the registration steps on the sheet.
  3. Staff from the Student Affairs Office will stamp your Registration Procedure Sheet if you’ve submitted your personal information on iCGU.
  4. Submit the registration payment receipt and the required documents (refer to the notes in the first section) to the staff from the Registry Section (undergrad students) or the Graduate Studies Section of Academic Affairs Office (graduate students).
  5. Collect your CGU student ID card.

ARC & Work Permit Workshop

(Mandatory for all degree students)

  1. In ARC & Work Permit Workshop, we will assist you in submitting the Alien Resident Certificate application online. As the computers provided by the university use a Chinese-language interface, we strongly recommend that you bring your own laptop to ensure a smoother application process.
  2. Save all the required documents in your USB beforehand. Housing Certificates will be provided by the OIA.
  3. The Immigration Agency will notify you via email once your application has been approved. Make the payment online or at the convenience stores.
  4. The Immigration Agency will notify you via email once the payment has been received. Then please download the receipt from the Immigration Agency and submit it to the OIA.
  5. In the Counseling Workshop, a counseling psychologist from the Counseling Section will guide you in completing the Attentive Inventory of Mental Health on a computer.

【Remarks】

  • Resident Visa holders MUST apply for ARC within 30 days of arriving in Taiwan, taking responsibility for any registration delay and potential ARC overdue penalties.
  • Options for validity: 1, 2, or 3 years. Please select the duration based on the length of your program.
  • The application won't be accepted if required documents are missing or if the photo does not meet the requirements.
  • OIA will collect the ARC card for new international students in Taoyuan City; residents in other cities MUST collect the ARC themselves.
  • Students must apply online for an ARC extension within three months before their residence permit expires and collect it in person at the Immigration Agency.

  1. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing.
  2. For students on prescribed lenses, please bring the lenses on the day of the examination, so that post-treatment eyesight can be tested.

【Exam Details】

  • Fee: NT$1,000 or 822. Make sure to bring sufficient cash (NT$ 1,000 for degree students, NT$ 822 for exchange students) and your Registration Procedure Sheet (without it you cannot obtain the registration stamp).
  • Please meet at the CGU bus stop in front of the Student Activity Center between 7:50 and 7:55 a.m. We will take the bus together to the hospital. Those unable to attend on the scheduled day must arrange their own medical examination.
  • If you’ve had an x-ray exam within the last 3 months (mandatory for Resident Visa application), bring your original health exam report and one hard copy of it on the registration day for exemption.
