The Office of International Affairs sincerely invites Prof. Christina Moberg to give a lecture at CGU, leading faculty and students into the research journey and academic life of this distinguished scholar.
Prof. Moberg has long devoted herself to research in asymmetric catalysis, focusing on the development of synthetic methods that effectively address the challenge of chiral mirror forms. Her work has had a profound impact on the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to this field, she received the 1998 Göran Gustafsson Prize in Chemistry from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and served as President of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences from 2015 to 2018.
In this lecture, she will share how she moved from research in organic chemistry to academic leadership: how she opened up new paths beyond seemingly established academic trajectories; how, through long-term scholarly accumulation, her expertise extended beyond papers and research outcomes into a broader and higher academic vision; and how she grew from a deeply committed researcher into a leader able to respond to the times and influence the academic world.
This is not only a presentation of research achievements, but also a sharing of life experience—how an academic life is shaped by choices, how one moves forward with determination in the face of challenges, and how one gradually steps onto a larger stage. For faculty and students interested in research development, this is a valuable opportunity to gain insight into how top-level research takes shape; for those concerned with academic career development, it is also a chance to reimagine the academic path and consider where a researcher’s journey may lead.
