In the early morning rush on the Tokyo subway, you can barely stand in the crowded car without even reaching the hanging straps; despite the energetic anime songs playing through your earphones, your mind keeps running through the seminar you’re about to attend. Outside Sinchon Station in Seoul, Yonsei University students hurry past with iced Americanos in hand on their way to the next group discussion, reminding you of your own script—revised three times the night before, yet still trailing behind your thoughts.

Beyond these scenes, there is also the quiet of Tohoku and Gachon—places in Sendai and the outskirts of Seoul that quietly hold space for research and academic routines.
