Taiwan-Canada Bilateral Talent Development Program – 2026 Globalink Research Internship (R.O.C. students only)

  1. To promote talent exchange and research collaboration between Taiwan and Canada, the National Institute of Applied Research, supported by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), has partnered with Mitacs, a Canadian talent development organization, to jointly implement the Globalink Research Internship (GRI) as part of the Taiwan-Canada Bilateral Talent Development Program.
  2. The GRI (Globalink Research Internship) provides opportunities for undergraduate students to undertake research internships at Canadian universities. The program aims to help students explore and expand their future research potential. Selected students will be able to participate in a 12-week research internship in Canada between May and October of the following year, with funding support of up to CAD 12,000.
  3. For detailed information on GRI application procedures and eligibility, please refer to the official website of the Taiwan-Canada Bilateral Talent Development Program and the attached briefing session and program overview documents
  4. Applications for the 2026 Globalink Research Internship (GRI) will open in early August 2025. This year, the number of spots available for Taiwanese students will increase to 60.
