Learning About CGU

Studying at Chang Gung University (CGU) has been a life-changing experience. I first learned about CGU during my undergraduate studies in Pakistan while exploring universities with strong programs in Chemical and Materials Engineering. CGU’s advanced research facilities and focus on innovation stood out, and after consulting with professors, I decided it was the perfect place for me.

Preparing to Study Abroad

Preparing to study abroad was both exciting and challenging. I worked hard on my application, secured scholarships, and prepared for life in Taiwan by learning basic Mandarin and researching the local culture. Packing my bags, I was filled with both anticipation and nervousness.

Adapting After Arriving

After arriving, CGU’s International Office made my transition smooth. I quickly adjusted to the supportive academic environment and embraced opportunities to work with advanced equipment in my research lab. My professors Prof. Chi Hsien Liu and labmates have been incredibly welcoming and always encourage collaboration and curiosity. Outside the lab, exploring Taiwan has been an adventure. I’ve enjoyed trying local foods like beef noodle soup and visiting beautiful places like Long Dong and Taipei 101. The warm hospitality of the people here has made adapting to a new culture much easier.

Studying at CGU has not only expanded my academic knowledge but also taught me independence and resilience. It has been an incredible journey of growth, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to pursue my dreams in such a supportive environment.
