The award (based on a 2-year maximum) includes:
Scheme 1: fully sponsored by CGU
  • Monthly stipend: NTD 6,000
  • Tuition Waiver: an amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
  • Free on-campus accommodation (quad room)
  • Opportunity for extra monthly stipend up to NTD 12,000 per month
Scheme 2: fully sponsored by both potential supervisor and CGU
  • Part-time research assistantship: NTD 6,000 (by supervisor)
  • Tuition Waiver: an amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees (by CGU)
  • Free on-campus accommodation (quad room) (by CGU)
  • Opportunity for extra monthly stipend up to NTD 12,000 per month (by CGU)
*The tuition waiver will only be offered after the potential advisor agrees to offer you the part-time research assistantship. Therefore, we recommend that you contact your potential advisor regarding the part-time research assistantship before the admission application ends.

Criteria

Pre-admission

Obtained one of the following certificates within five years prior to admission:
  • TOEFL ITP score 500 or above
  • TOEFL iBT score 61 or above
  • TOEIC score 650 or above
  • IELTS band score 5.0 or above
  • Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT-English) average score 65
  • Linguaskill Business score 145 or above
Extra scholarship for outstanding students (alternative)

Students who qualify for the scholarships above and meet the following condition are eligible to receive an extra monthly stipend:

NTD 2,000-12,000/month: Students who achieve GRE Quantitative Reasoning scores between 160 and 170 may receive an extra scholarship, increasing by NTD 1,000 for each point.
For example, a score of 160 awards NTD 2,000, a score of 161 awards NTD 3,000, and so on.

Note: GRE Test Administration fee can be subsidized one time for International students who have been enrolled at CGU. Students must retake the exam externally before the start of the second semester (Fall admission: January 31, Spring admission: July 31). Please submit your score report and receipt to the Office of International Affairs within one month after the exam ( Fall admission: the end of February, Spring admission: the end of August).

Pre-admission
  1. Taking the required Chinese courses (Basic Chinese) in the first year
  2. Attaining an overall average grade of 80% or above in each semester

Description

  1. Those who have not met criteria upon admission but meet them before the start of the second semester after admission may retrospectively claim the scholarships of the first semester, subject to scholarship quota. ( Fall admission: January 31, Spring admission: July 31)
  2. The application, review of application and the award of scholarship and grant are on a semester basis.
  3. No scholarship and grant will be awarded to students studying beyond the normal study period of 2 years.

Period

Provided for 6 months each semester, covering a total of 4 semesters.

Disbursement schedule

The monthly stipend from CGU is disbursed after approval, typically in early November for the first semester and late April for the second semester.
