Principles for Course Instruction During Typhoon Closures

1. If the Taoyuan City Government announces school closures due to a typhoon, our school will comply with the closure.
2. To reduce the impact of the typhoon on course instruction, instructors will prioritize the principle of uninterrupted student learning. They may utilize various methods (including: pre-recorded instructional videos, synchronous remote teaching, asynchronous teaching, assignments, or other assessable methods) to facilitate instruction, ensuring that the course progresses as scheduled, and will inform students in advance.
3. If physical makeup classes are necessary for course planning (e.g., exams or experiments) and adjustments to the teaching schedule are required, course instructors should communicate fully with students in advance to reach a consensus, avoiding concerns that may affect students' rights. Additionally, if students cannot attend due to schedule conflicts after rescheduling, it is not advisable to mark them as absent, and it is recommended that the entire course be recorded and uploaded to Microsoft Office Teams course group or post related links for students to catch up on their own.
4. If there is a need to adjust course content and the scope of midterm and final exams, course instructors should inform all students about the updated teaching schedule in advance.
5. For information regarding the use of our school's O365-related software for remote teaching, please refer to the Teaching Resource Center website (https://www.cgu.edu.tw/cfir/Subject/Detail/22953?nodeId=7807).
