Safety Precautions for Laboratories and Administrative Areas During Typhoons

颱風來臨，為確保各行政單位及實驗場所安全無虞，行政單位及實驗室之人員，安全注意事項提醒分述如下:
(一)離校前請將門窗、水電關好，做好預防大雨之準備，易受大雨吹襲掉落物品提前收起，以避免發生危險。
(二)颱風可能成樹木傾倒、枝幹斷落，特別籲請各位同仁於行經時，留意自身安全。
(三) 將盆栽移到安全位置。只要有移位、墜落可能的盆栽都要收放好，像是吊掛、放在欄杆、圍牆上的植物，都要移到不會受到強風吹襲的地方，以避免高處墜落砸傷人員。
(四)用電安全注意事項
(1)各系所倉庫、庫房有堆放雜物者，請清理乾淨，擺放整齊。
(2)檢視插座、插頭是否有焦黑、綠鏽或累積塵埃之現象，若使用延長線務必選擇經商檢局檢驗合格的商品。
(3)梅雨季節使用除濕機，請確實做到人員下班離開時關機，避免釀成火災；電器不使用時，應將插頭拔掉。
(4)冰箱應放置在通風良好處，避免使用電扇協助散熱，另外使用電量大之電器(如冰箱)應避免共用同一組插座。
(5)電器用品周圍不可堆放易（可）燃物。
(五)易燃化學品注意事項
(1)藥品應儲存於通風、陰涼處，勿使太陽直接照射。
(2)具揮發性藥品應置於儲存室(櫃)內並裝設排氣或通風設備。
(3)易燃性、引火性、爆炸性、強氧化性等化學品應儲存於具有防火、防爆功能之儲存室(櫃)中。

請各單位務必注意上述注意事項，降低危害發生，使全體教職員工生能處於在安全無虞的環境下辦公及學習，敬請配合。

Safety Precautions for Laboratories and Administrative Areas During Typhoons
To ensure the safety of administrative units and laboratory environments during typhoons, please be reminded of the following safety precautions:

I. Before Leaving School:
Close Windows and Turn Off Power and Water:
Before leaving, ensure all windows are closed and power and water supplies are turned off.
Secure any items that may be blown away by heavy rain to prevent accidents.
II. Outdoor Safety Precautions:
Beware of Falling Trees and Branches:
Typhoons may cause trees to fall and branches to break. Please be extra cautious when passing by such areas to ensure personal safety.
III. Moving Potted Plants:
Relocate Potted Plants to Safe Areas:
Move any potted plants that could be displaced or fall. Plants hanging or placed on railings or walls should be moved to areas protected from strong winds to prevent them from falling and causing injury.
IV. Electrical Safety Precautions:
Clean and Organize Warehouses and Storage Rooms:
Clear and neatly arrange any clutter in department warehouses and storage rooms.
Inspect Electrical Sockets and Plugs:
Check for signs of burning, rust, or dust accumulation on sockets and plugs. Use extension cords that have been certified by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and Inspection.
Dehumidifier Use:
During the rainy season, ensure dehumidifiers are turned off when leaving to prevent fires.
Unplug Unused Electrical Appliances:
Unplug any electrical appliances that are not in use.
Proper Placement of Refrigerators:
Place refrigerators in well-ventilated areas and avoid using fans to assist with cooling. Do not share the same socket with high-power-consuming appliances like refrigerators.
Keep Flammable Items Away from Electrical Appliances:
Do not store flammable items near electrical appliances.
V. Flammable Chemicals Safety Precautions:
Proper Storage of Chemicals:
Store chemicals in ventilated, cool areas, away from direct sunlight.
Volatile Chemicals:
Store volatile chemicals in designated storage rooms or cabinets equipped with exhaust or ventilation systems.
Hazardous Chemicals Storage:
Store flammable, ignitable, explosive, and highly oxidizing chemicals in fireproof and explosion-proof storage rooms or cabinets.
All units are urged to pay close attention to the above precautions to minimize risks, ensuring a safe environment for all faculty, staff, and students to work and study. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
