Campus Stray Dog Sightings and Safety Guidelines ( Please be informed)

1. The University has recently received multiple reports of stray dogs chasing individuals, primarily in areas around the Second Medical Building, Management Building, and Engineering Building. The Office of General Affairs has reported the matter to the Taoyuan City Animal Protection Office for further handling.
2. To ensure campus safety, all faculty members, staff, and students are urged to remain vigilant, particularly in areas where stray dogs are frequently seen, and to observe the following safety guidelines:
(1) If you encounter a stray dog, maintain a safe distance and do not approach, touch, or run from the dog. If a dog approaches you, remain calm, use personal belongings as a barrier if necessary, and slowly move away from the area.
(2) Do not attempt to chase away, provoke, or attack stray dogs, or engage in any other behavior that may agitate them.
(3) Do not feed stray dogs on campus. Please properly dispose of food and food waste, and do not leave or discard them outdoors, as this may attract stray dogs to gather or remain in specific areas for extended periods, increasing the likelihood of human-dog encounters and associated safety risks.
(4) If you spot a stray dog without a collar, or encounter a dog chasing or attacking people, please immediately contact the Security Division at Ext. 5000 for assistance.
3. All faculty members, staff, and students are requested to cooperate by remaining aware of their surroundings and following the above safety guidelines to help maintain a safe campus environment.
