Chang Gung University, CGUST, and MCUT Launch Sustainability Achievements Exhibition

Chang Gung University, in collaboration with Chang Gung University of Science and Technology (CGUST) and Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), has officially launched the 「深『庚』不息 × 有『志』一同」Sustainability Achievements Exhibition. The opening ceremony was held yesterday (July 31) at the Formosa Plastics Group Museum, and the exhibition will run for five months. This showcase highlights the three universities' outstanding results in sustainable development and University Social Responsibility (USR) initiatives. Beyond promoting social responsibility, the event encourages faculty, students, and the general public to engage in sustainability and collaborate with local communities to build a better future.

Chang Gung University stated that this is the first time the three universities are jointly hosting a sustainability exhibition at the on-campus Formosa Plastics Group Museum. The opening ceremony was attended by CGU President Ming-Je Tang, CGUST President Chun-Yu Fan, and MCUT President Tsu hua Liu. Aiming to reach beyond the academic community, the exhibition welcomes families and the general public. With the museum attracting an average of 90,000 visitors annually, the universities hope to leverage this high-quality venue to provide a broader audience with firsthand experience of their sustainability efforts and innovations.

Remarks by Chang Gung University President Ming-Je Tang


In his opening remarks, President Tang emphasized CGU’s consistent recognition in the field of social responsibility. In addition to ranking 139th in Asia in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings, the university also received 3rd place in the General Private Universities category of the CommonWealth Magazine USR University Citizen Award, as well as the Excellence Award in the Sustainability Report category and the Model Award in the Well-being and Symbiosis category from Global Views Monthly’s USR Awards. These achievements reflect the joint efforts of CGU’s faculty and students. Looking ahead, CGU will continue to foster inter-college collaboration to develop innovative solutions tailored to local needs and apply academic expertise to enhance community well-being.

Local farmers set up stalls to sell peaches.


To further promote the spirit of USR, the CGU Office of Sustainable Development organized several pre-order events on campus. At the opening ceremony, partners from the Shalunzi Tribe in Fuxing District—part of a CGU USR initiative—were invited to sell and distribute pre-ordered local agricultural products such as cabbage, peaches, and eggs outside the exhibition area. In addition, pineapple buns and rice balls handmade by persons with disabilities trained through CGU’s "Empowerment, Inclusion, Sustainability: Employment and Peer Support Program for Persons with Disabilities" were also available for pickup, demonstrating CGU’s strong commitment to social responsibility through real-world actions. The exhibition features five main zones: Chang Gung University Zone CGUST Zone MCUT Zone Publications Zone Puzzle Block Zone The CGU Zone includes an interactive six-panel “Flip & Discover” display highlighting the university’s implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Publications Zone presents a variety of digital and printed works from all three universities, including sustainability reports, CSR annual reviews, ecological publications, and illustrated books. Meanwhile, the Puzzle Block Zone features a 3x3 cube puzzle that can form six different images. The exhibition is open now through December 28, 2025, and all are warmly invited to visit and explore this interactive showcase.
