Our university prioritizes local procurement in Taiwan to reduce carbon emissions from long-distance overseas transportation and support local business development. From 2021 to 2023, the proportion of local procurement in total expenditures has exceeded 98%. Moving forward, we will maintain this level and further assess the feasibility of expanding local procurement while setting concrete targets.
In recent years, besides continuing to implement environmental and energy-saving policies, we have encouraged all departments to use energy-efficient and eco-friendly products, such as energy-saving equipment (e.g., inverters, high-efficiency IE3 motors, explosion-proof LED lights, air conditioning units, and UPS systems) and products with eco-labels, energy-saving labels, and water-saving labels. Under government incentives, 760 energy-efficient appliances met the criteria for tax rebates, with total subsidy applications amounting to NT$1,484,000. Additionally, our university's green procurement efforts have been widely recognized, earning us the Outstanding Green Procurement Unit award for four consecutive years. From 2018 to 2021, we received the Taoyuan City Enterprise and Organization Green Procurement Excellence Award.
