Building Local Ecological Knowledge through Long-Term Field Practice

Deepening, Learning and Sharing: Ecological Survey of Forests Surrounding Chang Gung University

The project continues long-term ecological surveys of forest areas surrounding CGU, building a local biodiversity database through field observations, photography, and monitoring. Ecological knowledge is also transformed into educational resources and learning activities for nearby schools and university students.

Long-Term Ecological Survey Continuous forest-road monitoring documents local wildlife and provides evidence for habitat management.

Biodiversity Observation Field surveys have recorded wildlife including wild boar and the protected Formosan pangolin.

Ecological Education Ecological data and fern-related teaching materials are introduced into nearby schools and university learning.

Ecological monitoring equipment being installed in a forest near Chang Gung University — ECOLOGICAL MONITORING Field monitoring supports long-term observation and documentation of wildlife in forest habitats surrounding the University.

Creating New Value from Local Agricultural Resources

Innovative Community-Based Sustainable Production and Marketing Model for Imperfect Agricultural Produce in Guishan

Working with local farmers, farmers' associations, students, and professional chefs, the project explores how imperfect agricultural produce can be transformed into higher-value products. Food and agriculture education, product development, processing, and future packaging strategies are combined to strengthen local production and promote circular use of agricultural resources.
