Chang Gung University continues to enhance campus landscapes and conserve biodiversity through planting and landscape improvement, ecological habitat management, and local ecological publications. These efforts create a sustainable campus that integrates landscape aesthetics, environmental education, and ecological value.
Our Key Practices
Landscape Maintenance & Greening
Seasonal flowers are planted throughout the year, while shrubs and flowering tree species are gradually transplanted and supplemented. These efforts create changing colors and landscapes across the four seasons and contribute to a more welcoming campus environment.
Ecological Habitat Management
Water quality in the campus ecological pond is regularly maintained to support the ecological balance of the pond and surrounding flora and fauna, protecting existing campus habitats and ecosystem stability.
Ecological Publications & Education
Through local ecological observation and publication, CGU systematically documents plants and animals in the Guishan and Linkou Plateau areas, strengthening biodiversity education and the accumulation of local ecological knowledge.
Biodiversity & Landscape Progress
To enhance campus biodiversity and improve previously less-diverse landscape environments, CGU continues to supplement campus planting and optimize landscape design. Campus green spaces are also open to visitors from outside the University.
The University regularly maintains the water quality of the ecological pond to preserve ecological balance among aquatic environments and surrounding plant and animal communities, thereby protecting existing campus habitats and ecosystem stability.
In addition to campus landscape management, CGU faculty continue to compile ecological observations from the Guishan and Linkou Plateau areas, gradually building a more complete picture of the region's natural environment and biodiversity.

Campus Ecological Maps
CGU Bird Map
The map records common bird species observed in selected areas of the campus, including characteristic species such as the Taiwan Blue Magpie and Crested Serpent Eagle, together with their distribution and observation points.
CGU Fern Map
The map introduces and identifies the locations of 28 common fern species found around the campus, highlighting CGU's diverse microclimate environment and ecological richness.
