Admission to Taiwan
- Overseas Compatriot students and students from Hong Kong and Macao admitted through this admission channel are not eligible to apply for programs under Continuing Education, such as Part-time Bachelor’s Programs, Executive Master’s Programs, or other classes conducted exclusively in the evenings or on weekends/holidays.
- After enrollment, students must comply with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education as well as the Academic Regulations of the University regarding study requirements and student status.
- Receiving an admission notice does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. The visa must be granted by the Republic of China (Taiwan) embassies, consulates, or representative offices abroad.

Overseas Compatriot students and students from Hong Kong and Macao must follow the regulations below when applying for entry visas and residence in Taiwan:
- Overseas Compatriot Students:
- Those holding foreign passports must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC). Those holding a ROC (Taiwan) passport or entry permit but without household registration in Taiwan must apply for a Taiwan Area Resident Certificate. Those with existing household registration in Taiwan must complete household registration procedures.

- Students from Hong Kong and Macao:
- Holders of Hong Kong or Macao passports may apply for Entry and Exit Permits via the "Online Application System for Foreign Nationals." Upon entry, they must apply for a Taiwan Area Resident Certificate. Ethnic Chinese students from Hong Kong or Macao holding foreign nationality must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC).
- Students aged 20 and above must apply for a "Police Criminal Record Certificate" (Good Conduct Certificate) and complete document authentication. The stated purpose must be: pursuing higher education abroad or applying for a Taiwan Area Resident Certificate.

- Student life counseling after arrival in Taiwan is provided by the Division of Career Service and Overseas Compatriot Student Counseling (OCSC) under the Office of Student Affairs, including assistance with ARC applications, Overseas Compatriot Insurance and National Health Insurance enrollment, and on-campus/off-campus part-time work. Students who confirm their enrollment should proactively contact OCSC via email (D000019000@cgu.edu.tw) or phone (+886-3-2118800 ext. 2020).
- Admitted students must complete registration by presenting identification documents and verified academic credentials in accordance with the admission notice.
- Students applying for admission deferral must comply with the University’s Academic Regulations and relevant laws.
Other Information
- This admission process is carried out in accordance with the University’s Academic Regulations and the "Regulations for Independent Admission of Overseas Compatriot and Hong Kong/Macao Students to Study at Chang Gung University."
- Any matters not specified in this prospectus shall be handled in accordance with the "Regulations on the Education and Counseling of Returned Overseas Compatriot Students," the "Regulations Regarding Hong Kong and Macao Residents Studying in Taiwan," the University’s Academic Regulations and related policies, as well as resolutions of the University’s Admissions Committee.
- The application materials submitted by applicants will be used solely for admission purposes (data of admitted students will be transferred to the student record system) and related statistical research. All other uses will be handled in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act.
