All in electronic format, uploaded to the system:
Identification Documents of the Student’s Place of Residence
- Overseas Compatriot Students: A copy of the residence identification card and passport of the overseas domicile, or a copy of the R.O.C. passport with the overseas residence endorsement.
- Students from Hong Kong and Macao: A copy of both sides of the Hong Kong/Macao Permanent Resident Identity Card (mandatory), and a copy of the Special Administrative Region passport (if available). For those born in Mainland China, an additional copy of the personal information page of the "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents" (Home Return Permit) must be uploaded.
- Ethnic Chinese Students from Hong Kong/Macao Holding Foreign Nationality: A copy of both sides of the Hong Kong/Macao Permanent Resident Identity Card (mandatory), and a copy of the foreign passport (mandatory). For those born in Mainland China, an additional copy of the personal information page of the "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents" (Home Return Permit) must be uploaded.
Photograph
This photograph will be used for the student ID card. Applicants must upload a recent, front-facing, hatless, half-length color photograph taken within the last six months, sized 1.5 inches (width) × 2.0 inches (height), with a uniform background. The image resolution must be at least 450 × 600 pixels, scanned at 300–500 dpi, and saved in JPEG format (.jpg).

Required Documents for Overseas Compatriot Identity Verification:
- Documents that can verify Chinese ethnicity according to the regulations of the overseas residence, such as official ethnic registration by the local government or other ethnic registration recognized by the ROC government.
- Documents showing a Chinese surname. This includes any name that can be identified as a common Chinese surname, regardless of whether it is written in Chinese, a local language, or a Roman alphabet. For example, an English name like "Jimmy HO" is acceptable.
- Proof of bloodline or cultural connection. This includes documents or evidence showing that an individual's family lineage can be traced back to Chinese ancestors (including, but not limited to, the Han ethnic group). This determination can be made based on evidence such as household decorations, religious beliefs, sacrificial customs, lifestyle, membership in a clan association, or genealogical records.
- Hong Kong and Macau Students, and Ethnic Chinese Students with Foreign Nationality:
Language Proficiency Certificate

For programs taught in Chinese: Submit proof of Chinese proficiency, such as:
- TOCFL (Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language) Level B1 (Listening and Reading) or equivalent CEFR B1 and above.
- Proof of full-time Chinese-medium instruction at high school.

For programs taught in English: Submit proof of English proficiency, such as:
- CEFR B2 level and above.
- Proof of full-time English-medium instruction at high school.
Certificate of Enrollment / Graduation Diploma
If the certificate of enrollment or graduation diploma is issued in a language other than Chinese or English, it must be translated, affixed with the official school seal, and authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission or by a recommending unit designated by the Overseas Community Affairs Council.
- Current senior high school graduates: Upload a certificate of enrollment for the current semester with the official school seal.
- Applicants who have already graduated: Please upload the diploma of your highest academic qualification.
- Applicants applying with equivalent educational qualifications: Provide a certificate of the highest level of study completed or a certificate of withdrawal.
Photocopy of the transcript / mark sheet of your highest academic degree
If the transcript / mark sheet is issued in a language other than Chinese or English, it must be translated, affixed with the official school seal, and authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission or by a recommending unit designated by the Overseas Community Affairs Council.
- Current graduating students: Provide subject grades for four semesters, including semester GPA/average, class rank, and class rank percentile (if available).
- Applicants who have already graduated: Complete transcripts of all semesters, including grades for each course, semester grade point averages, class ranking, and percentile ranking (if available).
- Applicants applying with equivalent educational qualifications: Submit transcripts of the highest level of secondary education completed and proof of academic ranking.
Department-Specific Review Documents

A screenshot of the completed credit card transaction or a remittance receipt.
Important Notes
- All application documents, except for the photo, must be uploaded in PDF format to the system before the application deadline. Incomplete submissions will be considered as not meeting application qualifications and will not undergo substantial review.
- All application documents submitted will not be returned, regardless of admission results.
- By completing the online application and passing the eligibility review conducted by CGU, applicants are deemed to have agreed to provide the relevant information for verification by admissions staff, for the announcement of admission results, and for entry into CGU’s student registration system upon enrollment.
- Upon registration and in-person verification in Taiwan after admission, applicants are required to present the original diploma (graduation certificate) and transcripts of all years of study, along with certified translations, which must be authenticated by the R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas missions in the applicant’s country/region of the high school, or verified by a recommending unit designated by the Overseas Community Affairs Council.
