About us | |
In order to meet the strong demand for respiratory therapists in Taiwan, our Department in Chang Gung University, (the first one in the respiratory care field in Taiwan), was founded in September 1999 as a formal channel for students with medical related backgrounds to receive advanced education and training. The Department helps to elevate the quality of medical care in health care settings by training students. The Department’s curriculum emphasizes the teaching of respiratory care principles and professional techniques as well as providing students with the sufficient hands-on learning opportunities that they need to integrate their professional knowledge with their clinical practice. We also teach additional courses such as Sleep Medicine, Evidence-Based Health Care and Respiratory Care Seminars that aim to train students in problem-solving capabilities. Furthermore, our department cooperates with Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to provide students with more practical experience. The affiliated hospital has the largest respiratory care division in the Department of Thoracic Medicine that includes a complete range of instruments, equipment, and excellent professional personnel with abundant experience. |

About us | |
Chang Gung University (CGU) is a prestigious private research-oriented university in Taiwan, while the Singapore University of Design and Technology (SUTD) is a collaborative institution established through a partnership between the Government of Singapore and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. The Nano-Electronics and Energy Devices (NEED) program is an exclusive dual master's degree program that confers two master’s degrees, one from CGU and another from SUTD, upon the successful completion of all coursework and research requirements. The program is highly international, with instruction conducted entirely in English, and admits only 30 students globally each year. The NEED program spans 18 months, with students completing the majority of their coursework in Taiwan during the first 9 months, followed by 9 months of research in Singapore. The curriculum in Taiwan provides students with both foundational and advanced expertise in nano-electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. Subsequently, participants engage in an industry-focused research project in Singapore, offering practical training and hands-on experience. The primary objective of the NEED program is to cultivate global leaders and highly skilled professionals in the fields of nanoelectronics and semiconductor technology. |
