CGU x HCMC Hospital for Rehabilitation and Professional Diseases MOU signing ceremony

On August 28-30, 2024, a delegation from the Hospital for Rehabilitation and Professional Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, led by Director Phan Minh Hoang, visited the College of Medicine and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. They were warmly welcomed by Dean Chun-Yen Lin, Associate Dean Ching-Yi Wu, and other faculty members. The delegation toured the Departments of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, gaining an in-depth understanding of academic environment and facilities. Extensive discussions were held with faculty and researchers on a variety of topics. During the visit, the HCMC hospital signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with College of Medicine, aiming to foster collaboration in medical education and research, with a particular focus on training advanced medical professionals. Both parties hope to attract more Vietnamese physicians and healthcare professionals to pursue graduate studies at CGU, further strengthening international cooperation between the two sides.   The HCMC Hospital for Rehabilitation and Professional Diseases is the only specialized rehabilitation hospital in southern Vietnam and is government-funded. The hospital has 700 beds and 600 medical staff, with plans for significant expansion in the future. Director Phan Minh Hoang is committed to transforming the hospital into a leading international rehabilitation hospital, placing great emphasis on developing the medical and research capabilities of its doctors and therapists. The hospital's rehabilitation specialists have also expressed strong interest in applying to CGU's Ph.D. program in Rehabilitation Science for further study.
