《May 16, 2025》Chang Gung University 2025 Sustainability SIG Exchange Forum “Smart Learning × Intergenerational Well-being × Diversity & Inclusion × Sustainable Development”

Chang Gung University hosted the “2025 Sustainability SIG Exchange Forum” at the B1 Conference Room of the Formosa Plastics Group Museum. Centered on the theme “Smart Learning × Intergenerational Well-being × Diversity & Inclusion × Sustainable Development,” the event brought together scholars and experts from five universities—Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Ming Chi University of Technology, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Chung Yuan Christian University. Together, they explored diverse practices and innovative approaches in higher education’s role in sustainability, while promoting inter-university and interdisciplinary collaboration to foster knowledge co-creation and resource integration for a more sustainable future.

The morning session focused on smart technologies, elderly care, inclusive communities, and healthy living environments. Speakers included Prof. Tsui Po-Hsiang and Prof. Lin Yen-Hui from Chang Gung University, Assoc. Prof. Lee Hsuei-Chen from NYCU, and Assoc. Prof. Weng Cheng-Hsing from CGUST, who shared insights into the application and experiences of diverse health care practices.

In the afternoon session, sustainability in higher education took center stage. Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer Ma Cherng-Min of Ming Chi University of Technology and Executive Director Chiu Che-Huang from Fu Jen University’s Center for Sustainability and Institutional Research shared their universities' strategies and experiences in advancing campus sustainability. Additionally, Prof. Chen Chi-Peng, a distinguished professor at CYCU and co-principal investigator of an international collaboration-oriented USR program, shared his journey of environmental preservation and community revitalization around the Taoyuan ponds.

The forum concluded successfully, fostering not only interdisciplinary dialogue on sustainability but also uniting diverse professional experiences and innovative perspectives. Through comprehensive topic sharing and in-depth discussions, participants gained enriched insights into smart health, inclusive communities, and campus sustainability. Looking ahead, Chang Gung University remains committed to deepening inter-university cooperation and co-creating knowledge, striving hand in hand with all sectors toward a resilient and inclusive sustainable future.
