【Industry-Academia Collaboration】 Public Welfare Promotion Program for the Development of an Intelligent Long-Term Care Assistance System

Project Background and Objectives

With a commitment to promoting social welfare and advancing the iHealth Care and Community Support Service Platform, this project aims to establish a benchmark model for public health offices and municipal health management service platforms. By addressing various health needs across different life stages, the platform provides services focused on prevention, delay, and care. Additionally, through data collection, it builds predictive health models to enhance healthcare capabilities.


Project Implementation

This initiative is currently in active promotion, supported by the Chang Gung Social Welfare Trust Fund and executed by the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at Chang Gung University. The team is responsible for developing and deploying the iHealth Care and Community Support Service Platform.


Key Implementation Areas

The iHealth Care and Community Support Service Platform primarily serves local health institutions, aligning with central government long-term care policies while integrating local long-term care resources. The platform functions as a shared information hub, ensuring data security and privacy while offering comprehensive healthcare services for county residents.


Achievements in Local Government Implementation

  1. Yunlin County:

    • Awarded the highest honor, “Excellence Award”, in the Taiwan Healthy Cities & Age-Friendly Cities Awards, ranking first nationwide with six major awards and seven trophies.
    • As of 2024, 27% of platform services are utilized in Yunlin County.
  2. Chiayi County:

    • The platform's health data model was expanded to Chiayi County to support community health screening initiatives in collaboration with the Chiayi County Public Health Bureau.
    • The platform aims to integrate health services while developing innovative care models, with a 49% platform service utilization rate in 2024.
  3. Lienchiang County (Matsu):

    • The platform was expanded to the outlying islands, establishing a comprehensive health management system that integrates household registration and health information to enhance service connectivity.
    • Achieved a 100% digitalized elderly healthcare coverage rate in the region.
