Cover three things: learning goals, weekly plan, and your final output.

01Learning goals — what problem you want to solve and what change you want to see.

02Weekly format — how often you meet and what you do.

03End-of-term output — a work, a report, or an event all count.

04It does not have to be fancy — what matters is that it is clear and achievable. Past groups fall into six approaches, listed below.

3–5 members, with at least one College of Management student.

013–5 members per group.

02At least one member from the College of Management; the rest may come from any department.

03Open to both local and international students.

04Undergraduate, master's and doctoral students may form mixed groups.

A Language Center teacher or a full-time faculty member qualified to teach EMI; they must join at least 2 meetings.

01Either a Language Center instructor or a full-time CGU faculty member qualified to teach EMI courses (in short, a teacher who teaches in English).

02If you cannot think of anyone, the EMI Office can help refer you.

03The advisor joins at least two group meetings within the ten weeks.

04Weekly reports need the advisor's handwritten signature, so agree on a rhythm early.

Yes — both are required, signed by hand by everyone.

01Yes — both documents are required.

02A group is formally approved only after review.

03Weekly reports (submitted each week), the final report and the event proposal attachment are only used later, during and after the program.

04You do not need everything ready at the start — filled-in samples of both documents are shown below.

ANNEX 2 Learning Plan
學生英文學習推動小組計畫書填寫範例 Sample of the completed learning plan

Write goals as concrete, checkable statements, and list a date and a task for each of the ten weeks — including the two weeks your advisor attends.

※ ONLY THE SIGNATURE LINES MUST BE HANDWRITTEN

Member signatures on the application form, member signatures and the advisor's sign-off on the learning plan, and the signatures on every weekly report must all be written by hand. Digital signatures, typed names and signing on someone else's behalf are not accepted, and documents without handwritten signatures cannot be processed.
All other fields (goals, dates, content, etc.) can be typed — only the names on the signature lines must be written by hand.

小組每週聚會情境 Weekly group meeting STEP 02 / DURING THE PROGRAM WEEKLY MEETINGS
02 Meetings, Weekly Reports & Adjustments DURING THE 10 WEEKS

▸ Tap a question for details

At least 1 hour a week; the content is up to you.

01The only rule is at least one hour per week; the content is up to you.

02Common practice: share what you learned that week and question each other.

03Common practice: do an activity together — watch a video, practise speaking, build something.

04Common practice: check each other's progress and keep each other accountable.

What you did, how you solved problems, next week's goal; add photos and everyone's handwritten signatures.

01Progress on goals — what you learned this week and what got in the way.

02How you handled it — or what you are still trying.

03Next week's goal — a small, concrete, doable task.

04Attach photo records, with handwritten signatures from the group leader, members and advisor — no digital signatures or signing on another's behalf.

Not required, but groups with an output usually do better.

01No specific format is required by the rules.

02Groups with a clear output — a work, a presentation, a report — generally feel a stronger sense of achievement.

03Groups with input but no output are often seen as having a narrow approach.

04It helps to decide at the proposal stage what you want to finish by the end of term.

Very common. Remind each other first; if that fails, talk to your advisor.

01This is common, especially mid-semester when coursework piles up.

02Option one: remind and nudge each other.

03Option two: a fixed check-in — just ask each week whether it got done.

04Option three: talk to your advisor and adjust the difficulty or the method.

Yes, and it's common.

01Yes, and it happens often.

02A typical case: the original method was too narrow and results were limited, so the advisor suggested a change.

03After adjusting, progress often speeds up — sometimes ahead of plan.

04What matters is keeping steady records and regular review.
