  2. For the 2024 Wu Ho-Su Medicine Award, a total of three outstanding individuals in Taiwan were honored.
  3. Distinguished Professor Cheng-Lung Ku's research identified the high prevalence of anti-interferon-gamma autoantibodies in Taiwan, which leads to severe infections such as mycobacterial diseases. He further confirmed its association with a unique genetic genotype specific to Taiwan. His team successfully isolated highly bioactive antibodies, deeply analyzed their pathogenic mechanisms, and advanced the development of these antibodies as potential therapeutics for conditions like vitiligo and related diseases. This breakthrough brings new opportunities for clinical treatments and demonstrates exceptional research value and broad application potential.
