研究主題

本實驗室以酵母菌(Saccharomyces cerevisiae)、人類細胞、和小鼠模式進行以下三大主題之研究:

  1. 中草藥/天然藥物調控DNA修補之分子機轉與應用

    臨床研究顯示,許多中草藥對於合併放射治療有一定的增效作用,其中一個分子原理,是利用中草藥抑制細胞的DNA修補機制,來增加癌症細胞的放射線敏感性。因此研究中藥物如何調控DNA修補之分子機制,將有助於設計和發展合併放射治療的新藥物。

  1. 中草藥對壽命機制之調控與延長壽命/抗肥胖藥物之篩選

   目前篩選增加壽命藥物的系統極少,本實驗室利用一套新穎的篩選系統大量篩選具有延長壽命功效的藥物,並研究其分子機制。針對人口老化日趨嚴重的社會現象,此類型健康食品可用於預防及治療老化相關的病狀,更可望大量減少未來老年人口的醫療資源支出,真正達到健康老化的最終目的。

  1. 研發新型預防及治療新型冠狀肺炎(COVID-19)藥物

    目前對於COVID-19病毒感染並無治癒方法,隨著全球疫情升溫,各國迫切地需要找尋更多治療和預防的潛力藥物,最近研究證實TMPRSS2 對於SARS-CoV-2 進入及體內傳播扮演重要角色,若能使用TMPRSS2 抑製劑抑制病毒進入細胞,則有助於COVID-19 的治療。目前本實驗致力於篩選具有此一特性之藥物並瞭解其分子藥理機轉,可望作為治療COVID-19 的候選藥物並期望控制疫情的擴張。
