The Introduction and Sectioning Technique for LEICA VT 1200S Vibratome

Introduction:
The vibratome is suitable for cutting fresh tissue, biological tissues (animal, plant and human), as well as material samples. The sections for this vibratome do not require the embedding or freezing processes, so various physiological reactions of live tissues can be entirely analyzed while preserving enzyme activity and cell viability, such as observing antigen distributions in neural tissues or plant vascular structures.

Typically, specimens with a thickness of about 100-300 μm (≦1000 μm) are used for IHC or Golgi staining after sectioning, and it can be widely used in neuroscience, tissue immunology, electrophysiology, etc. In addition, the LEICA VT1200S also has a Vibrocheck device that can correct for the vertical angle deviation.

※We welcome anyone interested in this training course. If you have any question about the training, please contact Ms. He at extension #5065.
