Instrument Usage Management

Article 1:
To ensure the full utilization of the center’s instrument resources and achieve their intended benefits, the center provides services for internal teaching and research as well as external use.

Article 2:
The center’s current instrument includes Transmission Electron Microscopes, Confocal Microscopes, Scanning Electron Microscopes, and other peripheral instruments.

Article 3:
Due to the different functionalities and requirements of each piece of instrument, please check the detailed usage regulations on the center's website or contact the respective instrument managers before applying.

Article 4: Application Procedure
Visit the Microscopy Center or phone to register for the usage time. If assistance from the manager is needed, confirm the usage time with the manager after registration. After booking the instrument, please use it at the agreed time. If unable to use or delay, notify the manager in advance to cancel or reschedule. If more than half an hour past the booked time without notice, the manager may allocate this time to other users.

Article 5:
If any abnormal conditions are encountered during use, record the situation in detail in the usage log and promptly inform the instrument manager. Do not alter the settings of any instrument without permission. Unauthorized changes or improper use that cause instrument malfunction will be the user’s responsibility.

Article 6: Charging Method
1. Bank Transfer: For research projects within the Chang Gung system, the principal investigator must confirm, sign, and stamp the fee detail form upon receipt. The center will then process the payment through the accounting office using the project number.
2. Cash Payment: For research projects outside the Chang Gung system, pay at the university’s cashier according to the payment slip issued by the instrument contact person. Receipts can be obtained from the accounting office if needed.

Article 7: Fee Standards
Fee standards may be adjusted according to instrument upgrades or material costs. The actual fee standards are subject to announcement. Charges are calculated from the reserved usage time. Partial hours are rounded up to the nearest half hour. Delays caused by the previous user will not be counted.

Article 8:
Collected fees are primarily for the university’s centralized use. To ensure the center’s sustainable development, continuous instrument upgrades, and service quality improvement, the distribution method may be revised.

Article 9:
The experimental results provided by the center are for academic research reference only and are not liable for any legal responsibility.
