Graduate Program Admissions Highlights of the Department of Biomedical Engineering:
Our department leverages the clinical and basic medical research capabilities of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Chang Gung College of Medicine, combined with Formosa Plastics Group's emphasis on practical research experience, to align with domestic and international biomedical engineering industry developments. Our aim is to cultivate advanced biomedical engineering talent. Teaching and research emphasize the integration of theory with practical application, with all faculty members being joint appointees at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and collaborating with its physicians on long-term research projects. In addition to our own facilities, we share resources with on-campus research centers like the AI Center and Biomedical Engineering Center, resulting in a robust array of equipment and resources, as well as broader industry connections.
Our research focuses on "Biomedical Information and Imaging," "Biomedical Materials and Sensing," and "Medical Mechatronics and Mechanics." Research areas include medical image processing, AI applications in medical diagnostics, the design and development of intelligent medical devices, assistive technology, medical implant design, biomaterials, biomechanics, biomedical sensing, biomedical photonics, and tissue engineering. We welcome students from fields related to science, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and life sciences to join our research team.
