Congratulations to Distinguished Professor Cheng-Lung Ku for winning the 113th Wu Huo-shi Medical Award

The Taiwan Biotech and Pharmaceutical Development Foundation established this award to encourage innovation and development in Taiwan's medical research field.

For the 113th "Wu Huo-shi Medical Award," a total of three outstanding individuals nationwide have been awarded.

The Distinguished Professor Cheng-Lung Ku's research found that anti-gamma interferon autoantibodies are highly prevalent in Taiwan, leading to severe infections by pathogens such as mycobacterium, and further confirming its association with Taiwan's unique genetic genotype. He has successfully isolated highly biologically active antibodies and deeply analyzed their pathogenic mechanisms, further developing them as potential drugs for treating diseases such as vitiligo. This breakthrough provides new opportunities for clinical treatment, showcasing extraordinary research value and broad application potential.

A huge congratulations to Director/Distinguished Professor Cheng-Lung Ku of the Molecular and Clinical Immunology Center/Institute of Clinical Medicine Research for winning the award, from faculty and students of the school!
