On November 21, 2025, Chang Gung University was honored to welcome faculty and students from Okayama University (Japan) for a warm and meaningful international academic and cultural exchange. This program was jointly organized by the School of Nursing, the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Laboratory Science, and the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences through the course “Teamwork in Medical and Allied Health Professions.” Through classroom learning and on-site activities, the exchange helped strengthen understanding and cooperation between Taiwan and Japan in medical education and clinical practice. Students from the Department of Nursing participated under the guidance of Professor Angela Shin-Yu Lien and Professor Chiao-Hsin Teng, showing the department’s strong commitment to international exchange and student development.
The main theme of the program was “Teamwork in Medical and Allied Health Professions.” A series of English presentations and academic discussions were held, covering topics such as recent advances in liver cancer research, teamwork among healthcare professionals, and the use and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern medicine. In this international learning environment, students improved their English communication skills and learned to view clinical and healthcare issues from different cultural and medical perspectives. This experience also helped them better understand patient-centered and integrated care.
In addition to academic activities, the program included a variety of cultural experiences, such as healthcare-related hands-on activities, laboratory visits, and the sharing of Taiwanese food and snacks. These relaxed interactions allowed visiting faculty and students to experience the friendliness and hospitality of the Chang Gung University campus. Through meaningful exchanges both inside and outside the classroom, students from Taiwan and Japan built strong international friendships and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Special thanks are extended to the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences and the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Laboratory Science for their support in course planning and teaching, highlighting Chang Gung University’s strength in interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
The Department of Nursing at Chang Gung University is dedicated to educating nursing professionals with global perspectives, strong professional skills, and compassionate care. The department will continue to expand international exchange opportunities and encourage students to connect with the world and contribute to global healthcare.
Expanding global perspectives is our first step toward the world.
