October 30, 2025 —UMJ Faculty and Students Visit Chang Gung Medical Hospital: Gaining Insights into Taiwan’s Specialized Healthcare and Community Care

On October 30, 2025, faculty members and students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) visited Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Taoyuan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, hosted by Asst. Prof. Shih-Ying Chen and Prof. Yi-Chen Chiu from our department. The visit included key departments such as the Proton and Radiation Therapy Center, the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (including inpatient ward, outpatient clinic, and pharmacy), and the Dementia Center. The goal was to provide UMJ participants with a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s advanced medical technologies, distinctive healthcare services, and community-based care models.
Throughout the visit, UMJ faculty and students were deeply impressed by Chang Gung’s expertise and innovation in precision cancer therapy, integrative Chinese and Western medicine, and holistic dementia care. This visit served as part of UMJ’s academic and cultural exchange activities in Taiwan, allowing participants to gain firsthand insights into Taiwan’s healthcare system and clinical culture while fostering opportunities for future collaboration.
