Congratulations our student, Yu-Fang Lo, on obtaining the doctoral degree. All faculty and students of the GICM extend their heartfelt congratulations.
In summer of 2016, Yu-Fang began her
journey at the GICM as a research assistant in the
Human Immunology Laboratory. A year later, she felt the desire to further her
studies and decided to pursue a doctoral degree in Clinical Medicine. Under the
rigorous scientific training of Professor Gu, she embarked on her adventure
toward obtaining a Ph.D.
During her academic journey, Yu-Fang
demonstrated a commitment to perseverance and a practical approach. When faced
with various challenges, she always found ways to overcome them and solved
problems step by step. At the same time, she actively participated in both
domestic and international academic conferences, truly embodying the qualities
of an innovative and hardworking student.
Throughout her doctoral studies, Yu-Fang
also accomplished significant life milestones, experiencing marriage and
motherhood. During this vibrant phase of her life, she juggled the roles of a
Ph.D. student, wife, and mother, fully experiencing the joys and challenges
that come with each role. Her time at the G has
undoubtedly left a profound mark on her life.
Her dissertation, titled "Clinical
Manifestations and Molecular Mechanisms of Pathogenic GM-CSF Autoantibodies in
Infectious Diseases," not only focused on her main research but also
advanced studies related to cytokine antibodies, significantly propelling the
potential for antibody drug development in Taiwan.
By the end of 2024, we congratulate Dr. Yu-Fang Lo, who has become the epitome of a woman scientist! We look forward to
her continued contributions in the field of research, enhancing the biomedical
community and making Taiwan proud!
