2025 Scholars and Experts Go Abroad for Academic Diplomacy Projects
1. In order to encourage domestic scholars and experts to go overseas to conduct research on diplomatic issues of concern to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so as to strengthen exchanges with the international academic community, this shall be handled in accordance with the "Key Points for the Implementation of Academic Diplomacy Arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Arrange Scholars and Experts to Go Abroad".
2. The eight research themes and listed sub-topics of the 114-year "Residency Plan" include "Global and Regional Economy", "China Gray Zone Operations", "Technology Diplomacy", "Foreign Relations of the United States, Japan and Europe", " Select one of the following to submit a research project: "China's Foreign Relations", "China's Foreign Relations", "Indo-Pacific Strategy" and "Others". Applicants may adjust research topics at their discretion, but please contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in advance to confirm that the proposed research project is in line with the diplomatic requirements. business needs of the department to avoid the application not being accepted by then.
3. Application qualifications:
(1) Having the nationality of the Republic of China.
(2) Professors, associate professors, assistant professors or researchers of the same level currently employed in domestic universities or academic institutions, or postdoctoral researchers with a doctoral degree.
(3) Strong foreign language communication and social skills, and potential for academic development.
(4) Those whose relevant research topics have not received funding subsidies from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or other government units at the same time.
4. Application period: From now until February 14, 2020 (with postmark as proof), please mail the application documents to the Research and Design Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
5. Subsidy items: round-trip economy class air tickets, living expenses and comprehensive subsidies.
6. Duration of stay: Applicants should indicate the planned time of stay at the site for research, and the subsidy is limited to 60 days. Applicants who are not in winter or summer vacation during the research period can only apply after being reviewed and approved by the faculty evaluation committee of the department.
7. Residency Institution: Applicants should obtain the consent certificate from the overseas academic institution where they plan to study as a resident, and make their own arrangements for transportation and local accommodation.
