🌟 Associate Professor Hsu-Wen Chao
From Circadian Rhythms to Liver Cancer: Unlocking the Time Code of Life
Associate Professor Hsu-Wen Chao earned his Ph.D. from the National Defense Medical Center and previously served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology at Taipei Medical University. He has received international recognition, including being selected as an EMBO Global Investigator and an Outstanding Early-Career Group Leader.
His research focuses on chronobiology and liver diseases, with the Genome Conversion Laboratory investigating several cutting-edge areas:
- Circadian rhythms and metabolic regulation in the liver
- Mechanisms of hepatocyte polyploidization
- Precancerous liver lesions and liver cancer development
- Chronopharmacology
- Clinical big data and precision medicine
By integrating molecular biology, animal models, and clinical data analysis, Professor Chao seeks to uncover key mechanisms underlying chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma, while developing precision therapeutic strategies with strong translational potential.

Assistant Professor Chih-Ming Chen earned his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in the United States. His research has focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, synaptic plasticity, and innovative therapeutic strategies.
His current research encompasses:
- Neurodevelopmental disorders and autism spectrum disorders
- Gut microbiota and the gut-brain axis
- Synaptic function and neural circuit regulation
- RNA-targeted therapeutics

Professor Chen's research team investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying genetic variation, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration.
