Congratulations to our student, Tsai-Yi Wu, on successfully passing her Ph.D. defense and earning the PHD degree from the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medical Sciences.

Tsai-Yi Wu, known to friends as "A-Cha" or "Cha-Cha," has a cool attitude and an even cooler way of being! She shows a clear style and strong belief, making her a researcher who thinks for herself and takes action. When she faces problems, she doesn't get stuck but easily changes her approach, showing great intelligence and strength.

To her lab colleagues, Cha-Cha is a partner who "speaks her mind and is very focused on her goals." Whether in the early stages of research or when facing a difficult point, she always overcomes problems and finds answers with strong determination and sharp observation. From start to finish, she steadily creates her own research path.

Tsai-Yi's research looks at how anti-PLA2R autoantibodies cause membranous nephropathy (MN). This is a common kidney disease where immune substances build up in the kidney's filters, leading to kidney problems. Her research deeply explores the role of anti-PLA2R autoantibodies in this disease, as these antibodies are seen as one of the main causes. Her work not only helps us understand the disease's causes better but may also point to new ways to diagnose and treat it.

Because of her excellent research and strong science background, she has started working with the leading research team at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in Germany. She was also awarded a scholarship from Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council's "Columbus Program." She will soon go on to study and take on challenges at this famous research center.

This honor was earned through hard work and is well deserved. We are truly proud of her and sincerely wish A-Cha a safe and smooth journey, and all the best in her future work. We look forward to seeing her succeed on the international research stage and sharing her achievements with us again!
