Notification of the Revised “Chang Gung Medical Research Grant Management Regulations”

The key points of the revisions are summarized as follows:

1. Full-time faculty members or full-time research staff of Chang Gung University or Chang Gung University of Science and Technology who are also jointly appointed research personnel of the Hospital may receive the grant only if their extramural academic research project includes at least one co-principal investigator who meets the conditions specified in items (1) or (2) of Article 1.2.

2. The PI fee and research equipment expenses are now excluded from the allocation scope of the grant fund.

3. Each grant account employs up to one full-time staff member and one part-time or temporary staff member. The maximum employment period is six months, and consecutive appointments are not allowed.

4. Regarding the revision to Section 2.1(3) (scope of grant fund allocation), the new rules will take effect in 2026. All other revisions take effect immediately. The revised regulations are provided in Attachment 1 and the comparison table of amendments in Attachment 2.

5. In response to the revised regulations, the University supplements the instructions for the use of research project subsidies:
(1) Personnel Hiring:

For each subsidy account (which may only be used for hiring under BMRP project numbers), the hiring restrictions shall follow the provisions set forth in the regulations. Subsequent personnel hiring procedures shall be handled in accordance with Personnel Office announcements.

(2) Procurement Procedures:
Procurement processes shall be conducted in accordance with the University’s Procurement and Materials Management Regulations.

(3) Publication Subsidy:
The subsidy for each journal article is capped at NT$50,000. The list of recognized journals is dynamically updated; please refer to the announcements of the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Library for the latest information (currently recognized categories include journals indexed in SCIE, SSCI, and EI).
