The population and society of Taiwan experienced fundamental change during the past 100 years. We’ll re-examine the classics by Professor Shao-shing Chen and develop the theoretical concepts and models in the course. Topics on mortality and life table, birth dynamics and fertility, family formation and household composition, population projection, and population distribution will be discussed.
