About the Program

The NTUST EMI Teaching Resource Center, in collaboration with the Fulbright Foundation for Scholarly Exchange, is offering a fully English, online EMI TA training program. Integrated with the newly launched Tech EMI platform, the training combines interactive activities, discussions, and assigned tasks to create an engaging and practical learning experience.

Whether you are a new or experienced EMI Teaching Assistant, you are encouraged to bring your hands-on experience, share insights, and enhance your teaching skills together with peers!

Target Participants: University students who are interested in becoming, or are currently serving as, EMI Teaching Assistants.

Course Schedule

October 27
Teaching and Engagement: How to Succeed as a TA
Speaker: Annitah Nakandi
TAs will learn how to plan, organize, and present course content in engaging and meaningful ways. This workshop will help participants better understand what it takes to succeed as an educator.

October 28
Communication Skills: Leading Discussions and Managing Students
Speaker: Henry Campbell
TAs will learn how to organize and effectively lead class discussions in the TA context. This workshop will prepare future TAs for classroom challenges, particularly in promoting student engagement.

October 29
Leveling Up: TA Training Review and Next Steps
Speakers: Annitah Nakandi / Henry Campbell
TAs will review and revise their completed assignments with the instructors. This workshop will help participants consolidate lessons learned while providing strategies to continue improving both TA-specific and general teaching skills.
