Information on the “EMI Faculty Professional Community Subsidy Guidelines” and the “EMI Academic English Talent and Leadership Program” organized by the EMI Teaching Resource Center, National Taiwan Normal University

1. In response to the Ministry of Education’s Bilingual Education for Students in College (BEST) Program, the EMI Teaching Resource Center of National Taiwan Normal University (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) is launching the EMI Faculty Professional Community Subsidy Guidelines and the EMI Academic English Talent and Leadership Program. The Center is committed to strengthening the professional competencies of EMI faculty, teaching assistants, and tutors in higher education institutions, supporting faculty in optimizing EMI teaching skills, and promoting teaching excellence. The Center aims to serve as a driving force for advancing EMI instruction and enhancing EMI teaching quality across universities.

2. The Center will organize the following initiatives for both faculty and students:
(1) EMI Faculty Professional Community Subsidy Guidelines: We invite EMI-experienced faculty members to form professional communities based on different teaching focuses, including classroom practice–oriented, curriculum design–oriented, and AI technology–enhanced teaching. Through collaborative learning, hands-on practice, and feedback mechanisms, participants will deepen their pedagogical knowledge and teaching practice. The initiative will also include classroom observation and evidence-based applications, with EMI experts invited to participate in discussions to foster diversified and innovative teaching approaches.
(2) EMI Academic English Talent and Leadership Program: We invite undergraduate and graduate students at higher education institutions, as well as individuals interested in becoming EMI teaching assistants (TAs) or writing center tutors, to enroll. The program is offered in four terms annually, taught primarily online by EMI experts and academic English instructors, providing flexible learning opportunities that help strengthen academic English proficiency. The Center also welcomes universities to collaborate on customized EMI Academic English Talent and Leadership courses. Institutions with a need for EMI TA training courses are encouraged to contact the Center.

3. For detailed information on application deadlines and registration procedures for each initiative, please visit the Center’s website at https://rcemi.ntnu.edu.tw/. We warmly welcome your applications. For inquiries regarding course registration, please contact the Center via email at rcemi@deps.ntnu.edu.tw, or call Project Manager Mr. Chun-Yeh Tseng at (02) 7749-7082.
