Congratulations to Professor Wu Chia-Lin of the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences on Receiving the 2025 Sun Yat-sen Academic Publication Award

Award Description

The Sun Yat-sen Academic and Cultural Foundation holds the annual Sun Yat-sen Academic Publication Award selection. The review committee is composed of highly respected senior scholars and academicians, and accepts recommendations and applications from universities, colleges, and research institutions across Taiwan.

After multiple stages of evaluation, including preliminary review, external review, secondary review, and final review, outstanding academic works with originality and significant scholarly contributions are selected.

Professor Wu Chia-Lin of the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences at Chang Gung University was selected as the recipient of the 60th Sun Yat-sen Academic Publication Award in the category of Natural Sciences.

Professor Wu’s research provides a comprehensive understanding of the key roles played by neurons in the fruit fly brain in memory formation, forgetting, and environmental temperature sensing. His work reveals how the brain integrates critical signaling molecules such as dopamine, acetylcholine, and insulin to regulate learning, memory, and temperature-sensing behaviors.

These achievements have deepened the scientific community’s understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying temperature perception, learning, and memory in living organisms.
