Project Overview:
Artificial intelligence is the key technology to realize the smart factory in Industry 4.0. The realization of a
smart factory needs to cover vertical integration of manufacturing system, horizontal integration of supply
chain and digital integration of product life cycle management. Advanced planning and scheduling systems
play a key role. The current scheduling systems in the market lacks flexibility and cannot grasp the overall
picture of production lines. As a result, production plsnners need to repeatedly adjust system parameters, and
cannot achieve a smart factory. This proposal proposes a three-year plan. In the first year, a digital twin system
of the production line will be built through data analytics and machine learning; in the second year, scheduling
system will be built through the Internet of Things platform and algorithms. In the third year, MRP and ERP
systems will be integrated to build a cyber-physical system. Through Internet of Things, integrate the physical
factory and customers to realize intelligent manufacturing. We collaborate with NEXCOM to implement the
system into a demonstration field, build smart manufacturing in Taiwan, and promote a complete smart factory
solution in Industry 4.0. In the future, we plan to establish a spin-off to promote Industry 4.0 solution in
Taiwan, cultivate cross-field talents, and enhance the coompetiveness of Taiwan's industry
