To respect and protect intellectual property and assist students in using legally copyrighted textbooks, the library’s "Course Reserved Textbook Service" collects textbooks designated by teachersfor their courses. Students can use the library catalog system to search for textbooks by title, instructor, or course name. Electronic textbooks can be accessed directly within the campus network through the library catalog system. Physical textbooks are available for reading in a dedicated area on the first floor. An additional copy of each Chinese-language textbook is purchased and managed as part of the general library collections. The instructions for this survey are as follows: If there are any adjustments (deletions or additions) to the designated textbooks for this fall semester 2026, please follow the guidelines and schedule below to facilitate the library’s processing: For textbooks not yet available in the library's collection: Please fill out the survey form(課程指定用書清單 Reserved Book List.doc) as in "Attachment 1" by Friday, July 3, 2026, and return it via email or in hard copy to the library. Alternatively, you may submit the relevant information through the online form (URL: https://reurl.cc/K4pbLe). The library will then assist in acquiring the book as soon as possible, and set it up as a course reserved textbook for faculty and student use. For textbooks already held in the library's collection: Please complete the course reserve designation via the library catalog system (URL: https://web20.lib.cgu.edu.tw/) by Friday, August 14, 2026. Refer to "Attachment 2" for detailed instructions on setting up the course textbooks in three steps. If you wish to use Wiley digital textbooks, please contact the librarian (ext. 5622 or email to libdb@mail.cgu.edu.tw) for evaluation and recommendation. For the Spring Semester 2026, instructors who already plan to use specific textbooks are welcome to submit their recommendations during this round as advance purchase planning. Since there is a required processing time from recommendation to delivery and cataloging— approximately 9-13 weeks for Chinese books and 11-14 weeks for Western books—your early submission is highly appreciated. This will ensure that the designated textbooks could be ready before the courses start. For any questions regarding the Course Reserved Textbook Service, please contact service librarians at extension 5976 or email libmedia@mail.cgu.edu.tw . The library is committed to serving you wholeheartedly. Let the library become a great partner for teaching and research for the faculty, as well as a learning resource for the students. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Overview: The KuaiDao Paper Plagiarism Verify System is a Chinese-language plagiarism and similarity checking tool designed for theses, papers, and other documents. It helps users evaluate the degree of similarity between submitted content and existing literature, serving as a reference for academic writing and research ethics. By comparing content against academic journals, theses and dissertations, online resources, and various Chinese-language publications, the system provides similarity source identification and percentage analysis. It assists faculty members, students, and researchers in verifying whether citations and references are appropriately used, thereby reducing the risk of improper citation or duplicated content. In addition to thesis and paper checking, the system can also be applied to reports, assignments, and research output review, helping enhance academic quality and originality management efficiency. Furthermore, the system provides a reference verification function to help examine the authenticity and accuracy of cited references, thereby improving the quality of academic citations. Usage Period: From now until 2026/8/31 Trial URL: https://db.lib.cgu.edu.tw/er/geter/DB000000367/ How to Use: Please register and log in using your CGU email account to begin uploading documents for similarity checking. The maximum length for a single submission is 120,000 words, and up to 50 references may be checked per submission.
To assist faculty, staff, and students in correctly understanding and using legitimate e-textbooks, we hereby forward the "正版電子教科書購買指南(Guide to Purchasing Legitimate E-Textbooks)," issued by the Taiwan Book Publishers Association. Please refer to the information below and make good use of it. The Taiwan Book Publishers Association is composed of 16 professional educational publishers from Taiwan and abroad. Its mission is to promote exchanges between domestic and international publishers and to enhance public awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual property rights. As more students are using tablets or mobile phones as learning tools, the demand for e-textbooks has been steadily increasing. The purchasing methods for e-textbooks are similar to those for print textbooks. Students may purchase access codes through local distributors, campus bookstores, or the Taiwan branch offices of publishers at preferential local prices. Alternatively, they may purchase directly from publishers’ official online platforms (eTextbook) or through dedicated mobile applications. One-stop online bookstores, such as Amazon Kindle eTextbooks (with Chinese-language interfacesupport), or global e-textbook distribution platforms like VitalSource Bookshelf (https://www.vitalsource.com/), also provide purchasing options. Each purchased e-textbook comes with a unique serial number or access code. Users must log in to the designated platform or application in order to view, download, or use the book offline. Account sharing is strictly prohibited, and copying, printing, or redistributing the content to others is not permitted. To help students better understand the proper way to purchase legitimate e-textbooks, the Association has produced a three-page digital flyer titled “正版電子教科書購買指南(Guide to Purchasing Legitimate E-Textbooks),” which includes relevant purchasing links. Students are reminded to use authorized versions for their studies and to avoid downloading, sharing, or exporting unauthorized digital files, so as not to violate copyright regulations.

The revised provisions of CGU " Regulations for the Establishment of the Library Advisory Committee " will take effect immediately. The amendments were approved at the University Affairs Meeting on May 15, 2025. Key revisions include: The relevant clauses have been modified in accordance with the university's organizational regulations. To enhance the stability of committee operations, the term of office for members has been adjusted to two years, along with an added explanation of member replacements. Additionally, amendments were made based on actual operational needs, including clarifications on committee tasks, the designation of the meeting convener and chairperson, the procedure for proxy attendance by committee members, and the selection process for task group members. Since the regulations do not involve responsibilities of other departments, and in reference to guidelines of other universities, the final review meeting procedure has been modified. Approval is now required from the Administrative Meeting. Attached are a comparison table of the revised provisions and the full text of the updated regulations.
