Spring Enrollment for the EMI Teacher Training Program at NTNU EMI Teaching Resource Center – Open for Teacher Registration

The EMI Teaching Resource Center at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) invites CGU faculty members to participate in the Spring Session of the EMI Teacher Training Program, scheduled from March 3 (Monday) to May 16 (Friday), 2025. I. Training Content & Assessment Criteria

  1. Participants will complete the program using Moodle and Sensay, the center’s online learning platforms. The training consists of four modules and requires a total of 36 learning hours to meet the completion requirements.
  2. The four modules include:
    • EMI Teaching Context: 12 hours
    • EMI Teaching Approach: 12 hours
    • EMI Intercultural Communication: 6 hours
    • EMI Teaching Demonstration (including final presentation): 6 hours
    • Total: 36 hours
  3. Make-up Deadline: June 13 (Friday) at 23:00 – All required coursework must be completed by this deadline; late submissions will not be counted.
  4. Participants who successfully complete the entire program will receive a certificate of completion. Those who partially complete the program will receive an attendance certificate (including completed hours), which can be credited towards future EMI training sessions.

II. Course Structure & Learning Guide

  1. Course Overview: The EMI Teaching Resource Center offers a diverse range of EMI training resources, including asynchronous online courses, synchronous online sessions, in-person lectures, and workshops, designed to enhance faculty members' EMI teaching skills and academic English proficiency.
  2. Course Content: The curriculum covers EMI teaching theories, practical skills, intercultural communication, and academic writing. For detailed course topics and learning objectives, please refer to the [Course List].

III. Eligibility

The program is open to:

  1. Faculty members who are currently teaching or planning to offer EMI courses in the 2025 spring semester (Academic Year 113-2).
  2. Educators interested in EMI instruction and seeking to master EMI teaching principles and strategies.
  3. Faculty members aiming to enhance internationalization by incorporating EMI into their courses.
  4. Subject-matter experts with extensive teaching experience who wish to improve content delivery effectiveness through EMI.

IV. Key Dates

  1. Course Duration: March 3 (Monday) – May 16 (Friday), 2025
  2. Registration Period: February 5 (Wednesday), 9:00 AM – February 19 (Friday), 4:00 PM
    • Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Late applications will not be accepted.
  3. Acceptance Notification: Applicants will receive confirmation via email by February 24 (Monday), 4:00 PM.
  4. Final Presentation Session: June 13 (Friday), 2025
